Orange County-Florida, Clerk of Courts eFiling MilestoneCase Initiation with 135 Defendants is Received by Clerk of Court and Automatically Updates Case Management System OREM, Utah and ORLANDO, Florida – April 19, 2007 Tybera Development Group, a leader in electronic filing solutions for courts, attorneys, and government agencies, today announced that its installation in the Orange County Florida Clerk of Courts-Complex Business Litigation Division received a case initiation electronically from a local attorney which listed 135 defendants. All 135 defendants were entered by the attorney using the eFlex Filer’s Interface, not the clerk. The defendants along with party information and client relationships were then automatically updated into the case management system (CMS). The case was initiated electronically and then briefly reviewed by the clerk who accepted it into the system without manual data entry. This event demonstrates the ability of Tybera’s efiling technology to tightly integrate with a court’s CMS to accomplish complex case initiation, automatically updating the CMS and save clerks the time they normally spend entering data. Dallas Powell, president of Tybera notes, “The National Center for State Courts once introduced the concept of a ‘one click’ review process where a clerk would be able to review efiling data and then click once to submit it. Most efiling systems still require the clerk to have two screens up, the efiling screen and the CMS screen, to complete a task,” said Mr. Powell. “This really is the goal most courts are striving for—the efiling system communicating with the CMS, generating a new case, and populating this data automatically—we’re doing this in Orange County as well as other installations,” said Mr. Powell. The OCCC continues to promote use of the system as well as plan for the addition of other jurisdictions. About Tybera Orange County Contact: Tybera Contact:
